Anita Jaynes, Editor and Founder of The Business Exchange magazines, once again approached us to assist with The TBE Awards, specifically in the creation of the awards themselves. Anita, always seeking fresh ideas, presented us with a concept and tasked us with bringing it to life.
We began by sourcing oak bases from local sawmill. These were then precisely cut in our workshop, carefully sanded to remove any imperfections, and prepared for the next step. The bases were then laser-etched with the brand’s generic information. To enhance the natural beauty of the wood, we applied two coats of Osmo Satin Oil, which deeply penetrated the grain.
For the award faces, we selected 1.6mm two-ply acrylic with an authentic metallic finish. Laser engraving removed the top layer, revealing the contrasting colour beneath. This created a striking visual effect, with the orangey-gold surface (chosen to mirror the TBE brand colours) standing out against the black core.
Finally, we engraved each award with the title, winner’s details, and sponsor information, and glued teh plaques onto the oak bases, resulting in unique, bespoke awards that will be a stunning addition to any display cabinet.
Do you have a vision for custom awards? Let our team transform your idea into a reality. Contact us to discuss the possibilities!
